Since my blower install my car has been running extreamly hot. So I was wondering if thats normal or if I should get an IC/AC bought ASAP. If that is so which one would be better? I was looking at the Vortech but the battery needs to be put in the trunk. The other option was the one they sell a modular powerhouse. Which of those two would be the best?

Build your own, I'm in the process of peicing my kit together using a 24x12x3 bar/plate IC and a tubing kit from eBay. Once you get it on there, just up the timing two degrees per-RPM band in the Xcal2. The vortech aftercooler is ok, but not that great. Paxton makes a killer IC setup, but its pricey (and not worth it on a stock block power range for how much it costs).

Oh, and yeah that's "normal" for a non-intercooled kit...my times at the strip just get slower and slower after about 3 runs if I don't let it cool off for a good hour or so (30mins with fan/ice lol)

try upping your coolant system...better radiator/ redline water wetter and maybe turn your fans on alittle earlier in your tune.

Talk about a tight fit! Be careful as to where the inlet and outlets are located, and if they are calculated into the overall dimentions.
My IC is 24X18X3.5 overall....but when I got it OVERALL length was like 28 or 29 inches! (due to the inlet connections) It will not physically fit between the front bumper....so its time to modify .

Just warning you . BTW how much timing are you running right now?

Heh yeah I'm not dead set on those dimensions, but a couple people have seemed to have success with that size core. Also, I believe the Mongoose vortech tune is something like 15-16 degrees of timing - but it's setup as an adaptive tune and Tim has some crazy good skrillz making it all reliable n stuff

Wow 15-16? I have been trying to get a base set to where "safe" is as far as timing is concerned and basically trying to predict my #s. So basically when you get the IC, you will up it to 18?

Just for refrence on why I was asking this, was to see how well these cams work with boost and help evaluate where my RWHP will be.

A guy on MPH (GT..2V PI) had a ICd novi 2000, VT stg 1 cams, A/F was off the chart rich, timing was @ 12...car still made 441RWHP (HOT...no cool down) lol. So I was wondering exactly how conservitive 12*s was....and apparently it was VERY conservitive.

Thanks for the info, and further increasing my worry for my stock short block .

Well I might look at that Paxton just for the fact that with in a couple of years, maybe even next year, Im gonna get a forged block and up the boost.

I also heard with an IC you can mybe put a 10lb pully on with a stock block, is this true?

^ An IC should drop the pressure close to 2 PSI....so that should be right on and you will see about 8-9PSI.

What exactly is extremely hot? Blown cars typically run hotter but what temp are you at?

I dont know what temp. All I know is that after driving for even 10-15 mins if I pop the hood and grab the hood prop it is burning hot and you can fell the heat coming off the engine.

What about swapping out T-Stats to a higher degree'd one??

What kind of tune are you running, as in A/F Ratio??

Ok I'm just a tad confused. Cause I know 1 person with a procharger pushing 12 or 13lbs in his stock 2v. Another guy with a vortech pushing the same amount of boost, on a stock 2v.
