Car Running Poorly/Skipping

Well, my 2000 GT is skipping really badly. When I'm in drive the car will almost feels like it wants to cut out and the RPMs fluctuate between 500 and 750 approximately.

So I decided to change my plugs and a couple of them seemed loose. I thought this might have been the problem but no luck. The car feels like it has lost power and is just running poorly.

Could it be one of the coil packs? Also, would be best to take it to Ford for a diagnostic and will my chip create a problem when they do a diagnostic?

The car has been running poorly since I got it back from the body shop. Between the nightmare of my body shop experience and now this I'm starting to get frustrated.

No, but it's next on my list.

When I put the car away for the winter it was running great. Then when I put it back on the road it seemed OK but I could tell that something was wrong. Then I left the car off at a body shop and when i picked it up it was running absolutely terrible.

If the car is an automatic it is what they call "half throttle bucking"....my car does that sometimes and they say it can be fixed with a chip. If this is the case and your chip is custom then I would suggest seeing if they can fix it.I just usually take the overdrive off and/or drop into second for a bit and it goes away.

The car is an auto. Should I pop the chip out just to see how it drives without it?

hmm i have the same problem. had it since i bought the car. i had custom chip put in but it didn't fix it. sucks for me i guess.

My car had been running perfectly until I put it back on the road and it really got bad when I picked it up from the body shop. I plan on bringing it into Ford tomorrow for a diagnostic. I'll let you know what happens.

thanks. I've been to my local Ford three times and they just say it's normal. I give up on them trying to help. Hopefully you have better luck.
