car shuts off

my car will shut off slowing to a stop sign some times just randomly, not offten though. plus in reavers if i give it any gas and let off it will die. any thoughts on what it could be. im thinking vss or iac but am not sure. its a h/c/i aod car

bring idle up 100 rpm my car will stall at 800rpms sometimes seems to hold idle better at 900rpms

is it nessiary to trim the iac with a dermel to get it to idle right?
