Car smoke is killing me!!

All of a sudden my car is smoking read bad, i just got it smogged a couple of months ago and it passed fine. The only thing i've change so far was putting my o/f H and dumps back on.. but the smoke or fumes wasnt bothering me at all until i removed my manifold and changed valve covers one day. Now my car runs like ***** when i stomp the gas(backfires) my idle wonders up and down, and car smokes(white) and the fumes are really gettin to me with the dumps could it just be a vac leak?

I can't even count how many times I finished a job, just to have another problem pop up. I have come to admit that usually it means I screwed something up when I did that last job.


Have you gone through all the hoses, and wire connectors? Have you pulled the codes?
The codes should help alot with something like this.

I wonder if some foriegn matter got stuck in your oil drainback holes of the cylinder head(s) - this has happened to me - fix was to pull off the valve covers and take a wire coat hanger after cutting it and making it straight and jambing it down the drain back holes to clear them out - car stopped smoking
