the title kinda explains it. My friend just got a 95GT and in 1st gear, and first gear only, the car stops pulling at 3500rpm and won't rev any higher? Any help, thinking tranny...?

so in second, 3rd and 4th gears you can rev higher than 3500, but not first gear???

Dude, I don't know what to tell you. That is just wierd and unheard of. Maybe someone else will have some insight.

I concur the best thing I can think of is clear any old codes (disconnect neg (-) batt) drive it and run codes and see what you get. The tranny would be the best guess but no grinding or noise of any sort is weird. Does this only happen when cold or hot or just all the time???Does the car have any mods maybe a chip he doesn't know about perhaps???
