2001 GT 5spd, stalls right after ignition. I can keep the car running by giving it gas but as soon as i let off it dies again. It has happened a few times before where the car would die after ignition the first time then start up the next time. Now it constantly dies after ignition. As near as I can tell, you cant adjust the idle by turning a screw like you could on the 5.0s so I have it shimmed as a temp fix. Anyone have any ideas on what it is? Gas Tank is half full and havent had any other mechanical problems.
Thanks

I had this same problem after changing the exhaust manifold to long tubes. I know you aren't supposed to do this, but I just forced the set screw out a little more. It has worked for the most part for about a year now. The only problem I have is sometime when I start the car, it will stall the first couple of times, but that only happens once in a while. It's nothing that's too annoying anyway.

How much do the Idle Air Control vavles run? I read somewhere else that that would fix the problem, but hadn't replaced it yet, because I didn't have the problem often enough, after adjusting the screw that isn't supposed to be adjusted in the first place.

Definately the IAC. You can get them from $40-$60 either from a dealer or auto parts store
