I'm really not sure is this is normal or not but when I'm just cruising on the highway my stock temp gauge will stay right around the middle of the gauge maybe a little higher. Same thing with most city driving. But if I just get up on it once for even like 30secs the temp gauge shoots up to about right on the "N" in "normal" on the stock gauge and then it'll stay there. Samething also happens when I'm doing any low speed driving (i.e manuvering a parking lot for a while). Now once again I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen but it kinda scares me when it's gettin that close to the ol red mark a the top of the gauge. And the fact that the temp doesn't go back down at all.

Squeeze your lower radiator hose to see if it has a spring in it to keep it from collapsing. Sometimes under aggressive driving (higher rpm's) it can collapse and slow down or cut off circulation. It's getting harder to find hoses with springs in them these days. You may also want to consider a larger (3 core) radiator or maybe even an electric fan. A cooling system tune-up (flush, new thermostat, hoses, fresh coolant, etc.) would be a good place to start.

and please get a real gauge. you could be runnin hotter than you actually think.....something you need to know.

good luck.
