Windshields are cheap compared to this little damn window. The cheapest quote I can find currently is $175 for a used piece (don't mind the glass being used). There was a local place that quoted me $442 for a new piece which isn't going to happen A windshield is half of that, or so the guy told me. He realized the price was crazy and didn't even try to get the sale

As for the cop leaving.. I'm not real sure currently what he "could" have done in that situation. I could see from outside of my house the the officer only stayed for very shortly then headed out. I find it strange that the guy at the house would have cussed the officer and told him to leave. That only makes it look worse on his part.

A broken windshield will get his attention though, and make him spend some time and money to replace it. Such revenge is not out of line with respect to what was done to you, and is probably needed in this case because otherwise the dude will only get bolder about what he may do to someone else's chit in the future.

There is now way that is from a pellet or BB gun. I grew up on a farm, and shot plenty of old cars that were in the bush with BB and pellet guns, and the worest you could do is less than a stone chip in the windshield.

Looking at the damage, It actually looks like a rock or marble hit from a sling shot. A .22 I think would have gone through the glass, and you prob would have heard it.
Just my 2 cents.

The old cars had thick tempered glass though that didn't shatter into tiny pieces when it was broken like the safety glass today.

If someone shoots at you, the last thing you want to do is go at em' with a baseball bat! Cmmon now.

He doesn't even need one. Well, I don't know about the laws in TX but in my state anyone over 21 can keep a handgun in their car (in glovebox, center console, trunk). I have my CWP but in this case I don't think it'd be necessary ... Plus, if you go onto someone else's property with a gun, and they have a gun, you're screwed any possible way. Shoot him and you go to jail, he shoots you and he was defending himself.

On a different note, having your CWP is a good thing IMO. Ironically, the only time I've ever had to pull my gun was before I had my CWP (which prompted me to get it) ...

Well I got it fixed today. Got the glass for $81 and got it installed for $80. I then paid $10 for some tint to match up so the bastard got me for $170 which sucks.

An officer told me "lock your gascap and get some revenge". I thought he was joking at first, though I said "I wouldn't mind knocking out a quarter window on one of his rides" and the officer replied with "I didn't hear that" which means he seriously thinks I should get "even" I don't believe I will go this route as of yet.

As for going to the house--I don't think that is the right choice currently. The idiot shot my car then cussed a LEO (then filed a complaint against the officer for harrassing him). I will give this some time to cool down, and hopefully nothing else happens after this. He does know that I filed a report against him so I might not be so lucky. This sickens me that my neighborhood is ruined due to this ass that just moved in.

This isn't someone that doesn't know better. This is an adult doing the lame ****.

Call in an anonymous report, from a payphone, with no public suveilance cameras, and tell them something about Possible guns and drugs at that house. You may want to wait a month or two before doing so.

but you didn't hear that from me

You may want to check your local sex offenders map to see if the new neighbor is on it. That could be a great source of torment.

The dude should not be allowed to mess up the neighborhood. That's allowing one assclown to control everyone else. He needs revenge done against him because it's the only way he'll learn that if he hits, he gets hit back.

I'd say wait a couple of months until he shoots someone else's window, then two days later bash out all of his windows with a baseball bat. This way he wont think it is you to retaliate.

I as a 17 year old am amazed everyday at things people like this do. People seem to think that they run the world and that it is going to take care of them all at once.

Got that right. They rather sit in a parking lot catching a guy doing 5 to 10 so over the speed limit then get idiots like that that actually can do harm!!

Well the car is fixed again and got the tint to match up decently. Sucks that this had to happen, and sadly, this might not be the end of the entire problem. I have a feeling that this is a rought beginning,

Actually.. They probably do know where I live since I can see their house from my front door I'm playing it cool for now since things are fixed, though if I hear anything else happening to others, I know who to pinpoint.
