As you all know im going carb....

Anyhow today I tried to crank the car just to turn the engine...but nothing happened...No cranking.....Any ideas whats up????

The starter interlock circuit is independant of the computer IIRC. Guero, you didnt rip out the underhood fusebox did you? If you did, that's the problem.

In that case (assuming you know the battery is good, the battery connections are good, etc):

test for cranking voltage going into the Clutch switch. Then close the switch and see if the voltage leaves the switch.
Then go to the underhood fusebox and check the relay there. Look for power in and out while cranking (with the clutch depressed). This relay is a slave to the piggyback solenoid.

If that is good, go to the piggyback and check for trigger power (the small wire). If it's there but it wont crank, check the battery connection on the starter. If still no-go, put a jumper cable from the motor to the frame and try again.

That should have run the system pretty thoroughly.

Good luck.

God damn hissin......Thanks....Well This is what I did to make sure the starter was working....The top connection on the starter i ran it to the + on the battery and it cranked.... But you hissin has me all confused......how do I get rid of the clutch switch??

Ok.....So I bypassed the clutch crap.....And there is voltage on both wires of the clutch crap.... There is power going to the starter......the relays are good cuz I switched them around.....I grounded the starter and no go.....Now to the best of my knowledge, the top of the starter has a male connection that you pulg to...now when you turn the key to crank it there is no power to that wire.....

Is there anything from the starter that connects to the altenater??

Anyhow...this is pissing me of.....I looked for 1 hour and 30 minutes and nothing......I cant find anything this is gay!!! I think im just gonna hook it up to a momentary switch but is that a smart idea??? I know were would be a good idea to hide it to...

:rlaugh:

You're close man. If you have power in and out of the clutch switch but you do not have trigger power making it to the piggyback solenoid (and you swapped underhood fusebox relays around), there might simply be an open in the wire. I would check the signal to see if it is reaching the underhood fusebox's relay. If you have cranking power into that relay and leaving that relay, run a new wire from the normally open terminal of that relay to the trigger input on your piggyback solenoid. This should bypass the bad wire on your car.............
