Woke up this morning and went outside, started the car and it died. It ran for like half a second. Turned the key again, it did the same thing. I could keep the idle with my foot on the gas, and it would rev, but it would just die unless I was on the gas. After toying with the throttle and driving it around the block, I got it to idle (barely) at 400rpms.
I figured I got some water in the gas, so I limped it to AutoZone and got some stuff to take the water out, and since I had just under a half tank and it only treated 10 gallons, I got 2$ worth of gas and then limped it to work (20 miles). When I pulled into the parking lot here at work and put it in neutral and took my foot off the gas, it died again. When I drove it, there was seemingly no loss in power at all.
Any idea what it could be? Stock 97 4.6 GT with a K&N Air filter (w/ silencer removed) and welded in Flowmasters. That's it! Thanks for all your help guys!
