Car wont idle

Great. A new problem has developed but I think I know the culprit. Anyways, I was emptying my ps fluid tonight to see if I could quiet it down a bit. So I filled it up and went for a spin. About 3/4ths the way home the car just died. I was like ok, I must have ran out of gas (I had 1/8th a tank of gas). So I coast it home and go to the corner to get some gas. I get some gas for the car and the problem is still there. So basically whats happening is the car won't start unless you hold the starter for awhile and pump the gas a bit and the car idles at <500 rpm or simply dies. Now, when I was emptying the ps fluid I spilt some on a connecter coming from the ignition box. I cleaned it pretty good but I will try again when its light out tomorrow. Do you guys think that this single handedly is screwing over all that. The car runs fine as long as its not idling. It has full power everywhere. Hopefully some contact cleaner will be able to solve it, otherwise I don't know what it is. (this is a carbed car btw)
