Let's start from the beginning. You Have a switch, the motor and I assume a relay. Where are your wiring connections at?

i have the ground going to the battery, the wire that goes to the switch that turns the fan on and off for to the switch to the fan, the switch is grounded to the fuse box,the fan is hooked to a relay that they provided, and the fan is hooked up for power to the starter relay thing that is in front of the battery and the smae for the light power on the switch.

Ok First Dont ground anything to fuse box so as to rule that out Change this first ground it somewhere else.

Where are you pulling the power from for the Relay? Off the starter solinoid?

A buddy of mine had a elec fan on his car the previous owner tapped into the positive side of the coil to power the fan thats not good for obvious reasons But the not so obvious reason was when you shut the car off it wanted to keep running because the fan motor was producing currant and energising the coil. I think the way your fan is wired it is keeping power to the soliniod untill you turn fan off so i would pull power right off the battery for the fan also.

Well I would rewire it and it should solve the problem. Pull your power off the Battery and not off the starter soilinoid and dont ground it to the fuse box just to be safe. Obviously something is whacked.

You can pull your main power from the solenoid, I have mine there. Hook it to the side the + batt. cable is hooked to, its the same thing as pulling directly form the batt. Get you switching voltage from a switched 12v source in the fuse box. Use a test light and turn the key on and off to find this. You want key on power only for the switching side of the relay. This side will not pull many amps at all. Maybe 2amps. Ground to bare metal, wherever its easiest. The connection needs to be tight.

Man, why did you dig this thread up?

I was reading along as if this was something new. Halfway down I saw the dates on the posts.
