Car wont shut off

I relocated my battery to the trunk with a cut off switch. When the car is running and i hit the kill switch it doesnt shut off. I have a postitive coming off the battery to the one side of the switch. Then off the other side of the switch i have it running up to my starter soileniod(sp). I have heard about doing something with the alternator wire? What do i need to do to get it to work right.

Alright i found that i need to run a cable from the alt to the postitive side of the switch from the battery. For right now tho can i still run the car this way and get my battery charged or will it drain?
