Quick synopsis: I have a 95 Mustang GT and for some reason or the other, it won't start. The voltage level seems to be Normal (between the O and the R); and I tried to jump it off with my truck, but much to no avail. The car only makes a clicking noise once every time I turn the key. I figured if it was a problem with the charging system the jump should have remedied it right? My headlights, domelights, and interior lights all seem to be as bright as they should be. The clock and the preset channels that were set, are still set. I hear the fuel pump turn on when I turn the key. So what else could it be? I'm pretty frustrated since I just got it out of the shop from a fresh tune up. She was running so beautiful and now this. Any help comments/suggestions/replies will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply... I need to change my signature because I'm back in the states now. How can I get it to Autozone if it won't crank? Should I try to jump start it?

Take your starter to autozone, not the whole car.

Is the Stang your only mode of transportation?

My car did the same damm thing. After pulling the starter and going to autozone to find the starter was good, I came home and slammed my head against the wall trying to figure the problem. I found it was the ground from the block to the frame. Put a 4 gauge wire and the car fired right up. I would check that.

Does it make one click per time of trying to start the car, or does it rapid-fire the clicks? If only one click, does it come from the starter area or the underhood fusebox area?

I like the idea to double check your motor ground (use a jumper cable to make a temporary ground cable from the engine to chassis. If it helps, you know for sure what ithe issue was).

Good luck.

Didn't scroll down to see the additional posts...Thanks for the replies I will have to give it a try on Saturday. And yes Hissin50; it does make one click per time of trying to start the car. It seems lke it's coming from the start area.

Recheck the motor ground and battery cables and connections. if no go, then I'd bench test the starter.
