wow how confusing can this get?

sory but it spoke to soon last night and i would appreciate any tuning tips for my 4160 holley 1850-2 600 cfm carb.

ok so here's the deal:

when i apply the accel, it will have a short blip of power, then bog and then be off on its way. this ONLY happens from a stop or low speeds.

in park @ idle here's what goes down:

1. short lived rev to 1500
2. as i slowly apply pedal it holds @ 1500
3. all of a sudden, spikes to 2500

i think its got something to do with my accel pump. as far as i know, its got the standard jets, the # on the accel pump jet is 25
sorry for the confusion

either tighten or loosen your accelerator pump (the red spring next to the linkage that has a lock nut on the top of it.

if it starts to go, then bogs down, it's pumping too much gas, so tighten it. if it bogs down right away, not enough gas, so loosen it. it takes a good bit of tweaking before you find the sweet spot. i usually back it out almost all the way, then tighten it in 1 turn increments until it gets close to right, then tweak from there. after every adjustment, give it a little gas from the linkage and see how it reacts.
