is there a special peice that i need for my carb to get it to shift my transmission when i kick it. right now it pretty much stays in what ever gear i'm in when i floor it. the carb is a 600 holley and the transmission is a stock c4...if so how hard it it to fix...
You just need to install the kick down linkage from your carb to the tranny. Look at the drivers side of your C4 at the pan and you'll see the kick down lever.
Just went thru this - you will need a kickdown cable for C4 trans - see site - http://www.lokar.com/interior_pages/tc_kd.htm. In addition you will need part srk4000 for Holley. Not to difficult to install. At the same time I had to change to a throttle cable instead of the rod set up I have to get it to work. Autozone had a generic chrome cable set that worked very well for me. Can probably order what you need from Lokair or above site also. good luck.
Once I installed the kick down cable from lockair my old linkage would not fit around kickdown bracket. Since you have the same set up as me you will need to change over also.
