carb or injection

I have an injected stang, but allot of people say the carbs are faster for racing but i don't see how, its going backwards in time and technology, i think injection has to be faster but i was curious to see wut you guys know that i don't, thank you

All depends on your wallet. You can sink a few grand in a real nice carb setup and not be able to start it when it's 20° out or you can sink the same amount and have on that does. Carb or injection can yield the same power. Any more they are getting rather equal as far as price per power. I highly suggest an aftermarket stand alone ECU if you go injection. MegaSquirt is a great bargain and performs awesome. Also allows room for expansion of features unlike most other systems.

If your 'stang is a daily driver and you depend on it in all weather/climate conditions, I would go for efi. But if you're building the car as race only, or drive it whenever you feel like it car like I'm building mine, I would go carbed.

carb is cool...but you have to also think about emissions testing if there is any where you are. carbs will not pass a smog test because thats not what came on your car from the factory. that being said...go carb. all these people that say dont do it for a DD is bull. i drive mine 25 miles a day to work and 25 miles back everyday without so much as a hiccup. i have no choke on the carb and it doesnt matter how cold it is or how hot it is...the thing fires right up. sometimes i do have to keep it idled up for maybe 1 minute and than its go time. you just need to do some research and get the right size carb and a good intake. i think getting a carb car running good is more fun than a efi car because it actually involves some work...but can be a pita sometimes.

ps. i get about 18 mpg on the highway with my car. carb with a 3.90 gear

My only complaint about my carbed '84 1/2 GT was the fact that it's a pain in the ass to warm up on cold mornings. I'm going to use an 850 cfm Holley on my 393.

ITs really preferance.......i have had 2 cars now that have been carbed and daily drivers(not stangs) a '64 Impala lowrider, an '84 Caprice lowrider. I never had problems with either car leaving me stranded or anything like that, and real easy to fix! And obviously with EFi you can have more electrical type problems(sensors and all that crap). EFI will get you a couple more MPG, and easier cold weather startups but thats about it. I just like a carbed setup cause what ya see is what ya get, and the engine bay is clean as a whistle! my 359W is gettin an 850 Demon, and ill still drive the car to work a few days a week. Its all about what you like!

I have gained 3 tenths by removing the injection performer rpm and 24's in favor of a stealth and 650 combo

punisher tell me more! im currently going from a performer rpm efi manifold and 24's the an rpm airgap and modded 3310. What heads and cam were you using? How fast was the car before and after?

So what needs to be done with that tube that runs between both heads? Pinch it off or what? Its currently "pinched" off, how well (airtight) I dont know.
