Hello all, I apologize if this has been discussed before, I've been reading this forum for a few days and haven't found an answer. I just recently purchased an 89 LX that a previous owner carb swapped and he tore out most of the wiring. The car has a mini starter with two wires (12 awg and 4 awg). I've connected everything as shown below except the alternator and the ECC and i can get the car to start and run when i apply voltage to the small terminal on the solenoid (red/blue wire), but when i remove the 12 v, it dies. I only have worked on older engines with solenoids that have 2 small terminals, one to start and one to run, so im confused if this terminal is supposed to have constant power. If it does, my starter constantly runs. The keyed ignition doesn't work at all, so i have to start it using a 12v jumper, FYI. Can anyone help me get this sorted out? Thanks!
