carbon fiber hoods on stangs

It depends on the hood and the whole set up of the car..

I prefer a hood that is painted leaving some of teh carbon fiber visible like racing stripes

for the hood listed.. paint it all except the portions from the heat extractor back.

You can paint it any color to match the car. So its not like thats a big issue. And weight wise, it makes a complete difference. Obviously though, i mean that is carbon fiber for you!! The hood looks sick. Im thinking of getting one now lol

Only on a black car.

My Fox 5.0 Mustang is black, and i was considering a CF hood for it.

When you add up the cost of painting a fiberglass hood, they are about the same, plus you save a little more weight. If my car wasn't black though i wouldn't even consider it. I just think on a black car with some hood pins it could look sinister, especially in a staged night shot with the parking lights on :)

I had a carbon fiber type r hood on my car(black 01 saleen) and switched to a 4" fiberglass(painted black)cowl. I get way more compliments on the cowl hood and I have to say I like the cowl one more too. Just my .02 cents.

here I HAVE IT ON MINE ..check it out

The CF has a disorganized and randomly disorganized look and pattern to the fibers so it needs to be painted. You do not see boat owners showcasing the fibers of their fiberglass hulls... The fiber pattern gives the car and overall "ragged" look IMHO. I could see CF for the minimal weight gain on a full out real race car. Personally I would never consider spending my money on it.
