Anybody tried dying the nylon loop carpet? I replaced the carpet in my '65 about 11 years ago, and it still looks good except that it has faded at the transmission hump. Dies that I have found say they don't work well on nylon/polyester type materials. Color is black, so I'm not too conserned about the shade not coming out right, black is black. Any suggestions?

I had the exact same problem when I got my '65 back in the late '90s. It sat in a driveway in the desert for who knows how long and the black turned to dark gold. I used some carpet dye from the parts store and it wasnt 100%, but 2-3 sprays later it looked like the rest(good for 35yrs old). You couldnt tell by look nor feel that I dyed it so much. I forget the brand.

Luckily the previous owner of my '68 replaced the carpet in the last 5 years.
