Why does it have 2 floats?Numbers stamped on carb are C2H3 9635S.4 barrel with electric choke.Carb is soaking in "juice" to get it ready for rebuild.Carb came(intact) with the car & original engine that was in pieces in 1988 when we bought it.. Ran well until accelerator pump dried out during engine & bay paint last year.

Having a float chamber that wraps around the carb the way an AFB does, if it only used one float on one side, as you cornered it would either flood the engine or run it out of fuel depending on which way the car leaned. They didn't mount the float front or rear as most other carbs did, to make it easier to run as dual quad setup. This made a wide carb, not a long one. I hope this helps.
