Has anyone else noticed a drop in gase mileage when you installed an offroad pipe? I lost 4 or 5 mpg, and I was expecting to gain a couple if anything. I was going to clean my MAF and maybe get some new O2 sensors, but I highly doubt one of these two items just went bad at the exact same time I changed the pipe. What could cause this? I thought the catless pipe would let the engine breath better and only help the mpg. Thanks!

Well don't take this the wrong way, but maybe if you think about it you will figure it out. When you installed an off road pipe your driving habits will change. You will find yourself winding it out more often, and generally driving it harder because of the sound. I may be wrong, but I have never seen anyone change to a louder exhaust or dump the Cats and get better gas mileage right off the bat. Give it time, and when you driving habits get back to normal you might see and increase. But in my case it was just a heavier right foot that was killing my mileage when I swapped. :D

heh, im installing mine very soon, i'll give yall updates about it but I stick with the statement in the previous post lol , most plausible cause.

yea i did drive mine a lil harder at first plus i broke up with my gf so that was my present to myself, so you know gotta get more chicks. but now its normal if not better bc i can drive slower and hear my car, i jsut went 320miles on a tank last month, i usually get 21-22mpg with combined hwy/city driving and about 18-19 just city. but u might also want to cheak any air leaks in ur intake liek if u have a CAI check to see if all teh rubber things are on tight and not leaking bc that will kill mpg if its after the MAF
