Catastrophy has struck my C6 tranny, need help from anyone with a C6

Ok, this just happen. I was going to put my Lokar kickdown lever on my C6, i had to unbolt the old lever, in doing so (and i was careful too) the whole frikin kickdown lever and rod is loose and able to pull all the way out, what the hell did i break and how hard is it to get to/fix. Im pretty pissed off at myself.

Took off the pan and saw what broke. The tranny is still off the engine on the ground. I took the pan off, and saw that the lever inside the tranny thats attached to the kickdown rod had cracked and warped itself off the rod which was brazed on. Would it be ok to just leave it out and run without a kickdown, this isn't a daily driver, just a fun weekend car. Or should i fix it?

Update: I can weld the rod back onto the lever inside the trans, but when looking at the trans upside down, is the lever supposed to point up? And i see a little rod under the VB, is that what the lever pushes in?

Sounds like you will need to drop the pan and possibly the valve body to reattach everything. You should aways take the pan off to make sure you are backing up the lever in order to prevent breaking it or something else. Some trannys have nuts inside that can come loose. I have not messed with a C6 in many years so I am not sure of the specifics but you won't have much trouble finding the solution to your problem if you drop the pan.
