So I have a 2000 GT and am currently running BBK LT's BBK Offroad H-Pipe and have Flowmaster Delta 40's welded in to the stock catback exhaust pipes. Well being cheap has caught up with me. The stock exhaust/hangers are starting to get a little worn = rattling and well I think my car kind of sounds like a$$ now so I am going to fork up the cash and get a new cat back. I do not want to go with flowmaster again, every truck around here has that exhaust set up. I would like a catback that would compliment the LT's and O/R H. I like the car to be loud but not obnoxious. I have ruled out the Mac Flowpaths as to me they sound almost exactly like Flowmasters. I am kind of leaning towards the Magnaflow or possibly Magnapacks? Anyone have any input here? I am hoping that some one will chime in with something that I havent even thought of. When posting replys it would be really helpful if you include where to buy the system the cheapest (I am an underpaid Nurse).
Thanks in Advance :SNSign:

I dont like the packs, and the regular Magnaflow C/B is too quiet. I think the Bassani C/B is the best sound out there, period. It made me swicth from my SLP LMII's, which I absolutely love.

Oh, and its not the cheapest out there. You can probably get it for under $650 if you call around to places that price match. Also check out houstonperformance.com, I hear they have good prices on Bassani.

+1 :) ...I just bought Bassani C/B. You can hear some clips at www.mustangexhaust.com .

I bought them at www.ninosport.com . Pretty good prices and free shipping...
Plus if you look at the mustangexhaust site the owner lists a discount code you can use at ninosport :nice:

Here is my little list of opinions, ignore if you want:

Bassani- pros: best quality, sound, and performance everything
cons: PRICE, they get paid for what they do

Magnaflow- smooth sound, not very loud, but good quality

Magnapacks- sound like crap IMO, not a clean sound and I don't think they still sell them

SLP Loudmouth II- just like LM I but reduced the raspy sound, quality, good price, and very loud.

JBA- Quality, very underrated sound quality IMO, and I know a place that gets killer deals on them

You have the money, bassani, want loud as all hell SLP, and want a good exhaust with good balance thats pretty cheap JBA.

This is all just my experiences with them tho.

So I just registered and listened to all the different exhaust setups and I am torn between the magnaflow and the bassani. Price is a huge issue as the bassani is like 200 dollars more, do you guys think the sound is quality is worth it? I have never heard either in person, only on the computer so I cant tell how loud either of them are at an idle. Which system is louder? Those of you guys with either the magnaflow or the bassani CB do you ever have any regrets?

Which bassani system? There are apparently two of them the SS and the BX... Sorry for all the posts, I just have the itch with my tax return and if I dont buy it soon I will spend too much and not have enough. I also would like to get compliments on how my car sounds as well, I have NEVER gotton one compliment with my current set up.

I've got the Borla Catback and I think it sounds the same as the magnapack. If that's the system you're after, I would buy it from HottExhaust.com because they offer free shipping on Magnaflow stuff. I like the Borla catback as it made a huge difference in the sound. We get compliments every time we go out in it. My only complaint is that it drones from like 1800-2200 RPM's. Before and after that it's pretty smooth and has a darn near evil sound.

I have the bx series. I think I paid like 500 for mine. No regrets at all. My buddy got magnaflow headers, x, and cat back and I was not impressed.

If you can afford it, go for it. You don't want to make a dicission based on price becuz you most lkely wish you got the more expensive one later

my two choices if I were buying right now would be either

bassani
borla stinger

nothing against magnaflow quality wise just not a huge fan of the sound. that is subjective though.

the bassani SS is stainless the BX is alumized. Is the sound worth $200? IMO yes. I mean what do you hear evertime you push on the right pedal. the exhaust.

that being said I went borla over bassani because it was cheaper and I think they both sound wicked.

If you truely like the magnaflow sound get it as they are cheap. I just don't like them. wish I did. would have saved me like $200 when I bought my system.

Is there any sound difference between the stainless vs the aluminized? If not I think I will be buying the BX kit as most likely by the time it wears out I will have sold the car...

Don't take too much heart into the online exhaust clips. Some of them will sound quite a bit different than the clip.

The Bassani has in the last couple of years started offering two lines. Same system but produced with different materials. Actually forgot about the BX line earlier. SS stands for Stainless Steel, Bx is made of an aluminized steel compund. Its cheaper but does not carry the lifetime warranty of the SS.

Speaking of Bassani, look what some bald guy in brown shorts just dropped off at my house

Including stock?............................7

Stock---meh

Stock H and LMIs---Deep and aggressive, good choice if you keep your stock H forever

Catted X and LMIs----LOUD, raspy

Catted X and LMIIs---Better than the I's and O/R X, a little quiet for my taste, BUT they didnt have a chance to break in before I put the O/R pipes in

O/R X and LMIIs---Awesome, deep at low rpms and LOUD and exotic after 3k

O/R X and LMIs---Complete and utter ass

Bassani and O/R X---I'll let you know saturday ;)

And soon to Have Kooks LT's and Kooks O/R X
