you have 4 cats and 4 oxygen sensors.
don't bother modding the factory pipe, just go to http://brenspeed.com and get a MAC o/r h for $130, shipped, mang.

best advice is keep the stocker as is. because if you ever run into emissions testing and you fail....... its nice to have that safety net at that point.

get an after market mid pipe.

There is 2 catalytics and 2 resonators. Yeah even shops make the mistake of 4. I've seen techs fail people for it cause there is 2 missing cats.

Interesting. So the just front two are the cats? Then the rear units are just a waste of alloy?

from what i'm lead to believe is the 2 closest to the engine are, i've gutted cats before on my GT (6) and the 4 in the back were all cats.

First I agree with the previous postings.

Second, I couldn't help but chuckle at the thread title "cathalityc converters" because I design churches for a living.

So what's the deal with the '98 GTs? I've heard
six cats... is it really some equation that adds up
to six, between resonators and converters?

Forgive me the stupid question, but what is the
purpose of a resonator?
