catted X or o/r x pipe

Hello well this is my first post.Have learned alot from reading all the posts.Getting ready to replace my flows with a catted or o/r x pipe and catback magna flows. But which is better catted or o/r ? How much louder is the o/r the cat? and how much power do you lose with the cat? and where can i get the best price.

if you get the magnaflow catback, i would go with something o/r since it's a chambered muffler like the flows.

If you go with the packs, get a catted pipe or it will be way too loud and sound like ass, especially with an X.

With the o/r pipe, expect it to be at least 2-3x louder than a catted version. You will gain maybe an extra 2-4hp on a non catted pipe over a catted pipe.

Best price for magnaflows or magnapacks is completeexhaust.com Call John up, he has the catbacks for $299 + ~20-25 for shipping. He ships them out same day. He also has the magnaflow catted x's for $375 and ships them out within 2 days because they are oversize items. Not sure what the catless one's go for there.

It will be nowhere near 2 to 3 times louder with an o/r pipe.
That would be like, for example - a catted X producing say 70 dB of sound - the offroad would therefore be 140 or 210 dB? haha ..an o/r will probably be something like 20 dB louder, if I had to take a guess

If you don't need emissions testing where you live, well go with the o/r ...If you do, get the catted version ...they are hi-flow cats, so your performance will barely suffer anything ....nothing noticeable ...sound will be a little more mellow, but still a huge difference over stock

I'm really considering the SLP X-pipe route, the 3 piece design will allow the use of SLP longtubes without buying a new mid-pipe or hacking up your current one. Plus it uses race pipes in place of the cats so you can swap them in and out depending on emissions testing or sound preference. The only downside I can see is that there are quite a few places for the exhaust to leak, just make sure you tighten everything up good and check it after a day or so.
