catted X pipe question.

Will taking 2 cats off a catted X pipe make the exhaust louder? Will It be loud enough for me to notice a difference?

I also heard it will be too raspy with my magnaflow exhaust and it won't sound good.What do you think?

yeah you will notice a differnce and it should sound pretty good

Yes, you will notice, and yes it will be loud. The sound is subjective, but I personally don't like it.

an aftermarket catted Xpipe should only have 2 cats on it to begin with...

Also after removing 2 of the cats I heard that my check engine light will come on because of the o2 sensors. Is that true? If it is what can I do to fix that?

Well as far as how many cats mine has 4. I had a friend install it for me at a muffler shop and he put an o/r x pipe on and then welded the ****ing stock cats on.He told me he had to put the cats back on by law.So I'm gonna take them off myself.

Some guy that works on exhaust systems told me that and I wanted to make sure.

your car only has 2 o2 sensors, and they are located in front of the cats. nothing you can do behind the o2's will affect them

you should just get another offroad X and install it yourelf....and no it will not cause a CEL....our cars only have 2 02 sensors...both of them are before the cats so if you remove the cats the 02's have no clue....now the 96+ cars are OBD II, so they have 4 02 sensors...2 before the cats and 2 after the cats...if you remove the cats on those cars you will get a CEL....

yep, we only have 2 O2 sensors, and they are before the cats, so they don't know the cats are even there. 96+ mustangs have that problem.
