What would cause a reading on the stock gauge to go from dead center all day, every day, to roughly 3/4 the way up now, whether at idle or at highway RPMs?
Where should I start looking/ should I even be concerned?
It is a 95 T-bird w/ 81,000 miles and no engine mods.

Sending unit probably taking a crap. If not that, then you blew the motor. *bump* for you.

I think if you blew the engine you would have drop in oil pressure.

The stock guage is not good for much. Check oil with the dipstick to see if it is at the correct level. I would not worry for one second about this if I were you. If you really want to know your actual oil pressure, you will need to install a real guage.

it's just the gauge. it really doesn't indicate how much pressure there is, it just tells you if there is pressure. it's like a yes or no gauge.

1) I was joking about the blown motor.

2) I believe t-birds have real gauges, not the fake ones like we have.

if it were real, it wouldn't stay dead center all the time. my SVT Focus has a real oil pressure gauge from the factory. the pressure rises when you go WOT. oil pressure fluctuates with RPM.
