Does anyone else have this problem?! Every morning when I start my car (temp is low 40s) The cd player will NOT work. the radio works just fine but I cant adjust my speed volume, The load button is non-functional, the eject button brings up "INITIALIZING" on the display but after its done it still doesnt work. What the hell? Then at noon when I start her up again (temp is low 70's) its working fine as if nothing happened. I NEED A NEW CAR! but until then what could be causing this???

Yep... it's common. The disks are cold and you get into the car with your moist breath and person and condensation accumulates (they get steamy like your bathroom mirror after a shower) on both the CD and the laser pickup. It won't usually work too well until that stuff heats up past the dew point.

It will happen with any cd player not just a stock one...It would even happen to my alpine deck and my $1400 clarion in dash tv.

If you keep the cds in your house and then put them in they will work because they will be at room temp and not fog up.

A lot of CD players will do that. Not just ours. I notice mine only does it if it's REALLY cold out...like 5-10 degrees or colder. But i don't expect it to. I put the heat on floor for a few mins and then it works fine.

Low 40's though really isn't cold
