Could I use my JLT CAI with this CDC shaker system, or do I have to go back to the factory intake?

I'm very interested in this piece. CDC Mustang Shaker System (2005-2006 GT) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

I have the shaker but no CAI yet. Here is a pic with a CAI, you just have to trim the CDC shaker to make it fit, no big deal.

I realize this is an older thread that I stumbled onto (01-24-09), but if you still intend on installing a CDC Shaker with an aftermarket CAI this how I solved the problem with my K&N CAI system. I made a new air box out of aluminum sheet metal and fabricated a new air tube from the stock Shaker to my new air box. I would guess that in many CAI systems the aftermarket air box can be adopted.

EDIT:

One more thing, the front of the Shaker shroud usually needs a little trimming to fit over an aftermarket CAI at the Throttle Body. It is easy to trim with a jig saw, dremmel , or similar tool.

Did you ever install the shaker? Got pics?

I just wish there was some kind of strut tower brace designed to fit this.

This is a real problem in the 2010

As far as I know all 2010 GT's have the tower brace. Mine does. I was going to order the shaker system and the web page says it fits the 2010. I wonder if they just haven't realized this yet?

I would bet that the tower brace has to be removed to install the Shaker, that would be an interesting question for CDC.

I contacted cdc almost 2 months ago regarding this. The strut tower brace must be removed and there are no plans for a new strut tower brace to be designed

In order for any kind of brace to go around the shaker, you'd end up with so much flex that it wouldn't provide any rigidity. The straighter the shot from strut to strut, the stiffer the bar will be. Perhaps there is something that goes from the firewall to the strut towers you could go with instead?
