Changed the oil in the mustang yesterday morning and took it out for a drive last evening. Drove fine for a while but at one point while idling it began to make strage sounds (almost like an exhaust leak), felt like it was running at about 25% power, smelled like unburnt fuel and just generally acting weird (oil pressure looked alright but it was on the stock gauge) . So i parked it and pulled codes this morning. So far today ive worked on the accord, mustang and a friends nissan so my brain is shot as of now and im looking for some help determining where the problem is with the mustang. i only ran KOEO codes and the CM codes as i wasnt comfortable letting the engine run for any long period of time.
Heres what i ended up with:
KOEO
51 - ECT sensor out of range/ circuit open
67- neutral drive switch circuit failure- a/c input high
81- air diverter solinod fault, IAC circuit fault
85- canister purge solinoid failure
adaptive fuel limit reached- lean
CM
22- MAP sensor/BARO out of range
29 insufficient input from speedo/odometer module
51- ECT out of range
im thinking this is a bad ground for the computer or the ECC relay but im not really sure. Its a 1991 mustang GT 5speed and i can try to provide any other details if needed.
