ok... i was just making sure that it wasnt going to be a orange light on my dash... im not going to get mil elims unless i cant find a Predator or the SCT one.
There will be a CEL on dash, when it goes in limp mode.
Do want you want. If you get a tuner, it'll take care of it. But Mill is what most of us going with, and looks like most people have good luck with it
Your car doesn't go in to limp mode when you do that.
The MIL triggers because the rear catalyst monitors (o2 sensors) tell that the converters aren't doing their job. The MIL eliminators do nothing but modify the proper range voltage to the PCM to tell it the converters are working properly.
Not like this topic hasn't been beaten to death, but the rear o2 sensors do nothing but monitor the efficiency of the catalyst. That's it. It's yes or no. They don't modify A/F, and they don't put the car in to limp mode.
My light was on for over a year with no adverse effects. The only issue is that if you have a real problem, you would never know since the light is always on. I just got an XCal2 when I got my gears put in to solve the mil problem and gained a few horses also.
ok, i plan on a tuner down the road but i can get some MILS for about 35 bucks from a guy local. i knew that the 2nd o2 sensor was just a cat monitor but i wasnt sure wheter it would cause the car to try and run "cleaner" if it was wrong.
Propellerhead and sgarlic are correct on this one. The car will only go into limp mode when there is a failure of a closed loop dependent sensor. (front o2's, MAF, ect.)
