Verizon also has some of the best coverage too. I can stand IN the ocean and BS with people on my phone. They will ask me where I am at sometimes and I will tell them I am at the coast. They ask me if I am inland and I say "haha, i am in the water mofo. wut wut". They get so pissed at me because their coverage sucks the big one.

If you have a price plan higher than $59.99 you can early upgrade your phone to another one, just tell them yours doesnt work or something. You just dont get the $100 discount. But if you dont mind waiting until december, then you'll have a better selection of phones. The chocolate is cool but we get a ton back with issues. But the chocolate is an all around neat phone, its an MP3 player, 1.3mb camera, has the VZNavigator which is like a GPS, Vcast, etc.

One of the reasons is that verizon spends $4 billion dollars a year on their network, they dont piggy back off other carriers towers like T mobile and Sprint/Nextel.

oh yea I can wait for the extra $100 off hehe, what else would you suggest for a phone? I like the chocolate because of the features, but I really dont want something I'm gonna have problems with.

I have a Treo as well, but unless you're going to use it for work, its a bit over kill, I use it for work and since its a concession line I get the corporate email on it.
I can probably hook you up on a nice PDA if you really want, do you prefer Windows software of Palm? Have you looked at the VX 6700 as well? Its the black one that opens sideways?

I just prefer a lot of functionality. Camera is not important, software is. Need great contacts management, wi-fi capabilities, GPS based features would be nice. I have seen the VX 6700 and that might work too. I am usually texting a bunch and it gets a tad tedious on my V710. Not to mention that I am getting sick of crappy Motorola products. I won't use it for work, but I also do a lot of stuff away from work and would love the extra organization and features incase I do need to use them. My contract is up at the end of spring, and I am not sure if I qualify for the full discount yet for New Every 2 yet.

If you want the WI-FI only the VX6700 and the samsung i730 have wifi, the Treos dont have built in wifi. You can buy a wifi card for it though. Same with GPS, PDAs are not GPS out of the box like some of the navigator phones like the chocolate. If you have the Mot V710 then you should be able to get a NE2 credit, those things are seriously old. If you know your contract end in the spring then your NE2 is 2 months before the end of the contract. You should also check the Motorola Q, thats a good device, cheap and does most of what PDA's do and has a thumb wheels to scroll like a blackberry, its not touch screen though. Ohh my girlfriend is selling her VX6700, its has a few accessories and an extended battery, I think she wants like 200 bux for everything. Its in perfect condition, she just changed jobs and doesnt need it anymore, she used to be a manager for verizon as well. That way you wouldnt have to sign a new contract and pay $299 just for the phone and $59.99 for the batt and more for the rest of the accessories.

The SCH990 is an ok phone, I dont know why would someone pay over 300 bux for a phone that doesnt do much more than take pics and video. For that high resolution I have a digi cam otherwise the 1.3mp cam on my phone is more than enough.

Are you referring to the KRZR? If so, the guys on Howard Forums seem less than impressed. View attachment 436920

There is also a RAZR MAXX due soon, video is here looks like a pregnant RAZR.

Personally, I HATED my RAZR. It was like they tried to hide stuff in the complicated menues and they intentionally turn off bluetooth for any communication other than a handset- BS! I loved the size of my SLVR, but the menu thing still sucked. That was my last Moto- never again.

Yeah its the "Crazer" as we call it lol, we've had it in stock in the stores for a couple of weeks now and it's been on the company's intranet for a while already. This phone is basically like a razor, just looks a little different.
I personally dont like any of the phones VZW has, I like bar phones and Nokias and VZW has only crap in that category. Moreover, I cant even get a phone from Europe and use it on the Verizon network as they use GSM in europe and VZW uses CDMA.
