Just bought some used stock aluminum valve covers for my GT. Should I have them chromed or ceramic coated? I already have ceramic coated BBK Long tubes.
I'm a fan of ceramic coating them.. once polished up they will look just like polished alluminum. Infact i have ceramic coated pieces connected to polished alluminum pieces and it looks the same. A lot easier to keep from dulling too and for me it's worth the 40-50 bucks so I don't have to spend hours polishing them. Just make sure they are sanded smooth and have them coated.
Chrome blisters after 4-5 years. I had ones in the Ford Motorsports catalog.
But I live in a humid climate & drove year round. So I'd go ceramic.
But if you've got a garage queen, it'd make no difference.
