Let's see:
They changed the Shelby letters on the back
Changed the front splitter shape
Changed the hood
Back off from all the leather inside
Changed the tires and rims
The Stripes will be tape instead of painted

Is this bait and switch?

I've heard some of things things, but not all.

I'm really going to miss that hood, unless they come up with something special. I don't have a problem with taped stripes at all. I wouldn't mind if they put some fat bullet/Torque thrust looking wheels on the beast. I hope to hell they don't freak with my S H E L B Y on the back. It's my favorite part. Other than the HP and Torque.

I never post BS

Read Hot Rod June 2005 Hood, Wheels, Front splitter shape

May issue of MPH mag Shelby Rear Lettering

Current issue of Automobile magazine is now claiming that the Shelby interior may very well NOT be swathed in the leather that adorned the New York show car.

Yea,
I feel the same way, but production is still a ways off yet. You never know which way this thing is going to go for sure.

I'd prefer to keep the "shouting" down on the new car. I'd remove the SHELBY lettering and hood, roof, trunk stripes. Tone it down and really surprise the GM guys when you line up. Also, the cobra emblem needs to be centered.

Going to be the roots not the twin screw.

I agree with everything you've said......except for the centered Cobra emblem on the grille. Keep it to the side for the Retro nostagia look. It wouldn't hurt to keep it to the side. As long as it has the HP and performance they claim, I'm all for it. The Shelby name just brings the price up so if it was up to me, I'd prefer to have the name off so the cost could be lower. We don't need another Saleen/Roush Mustang (higher priced Mustang due to a name splattered on the car).

Is that because they wouldn't actually be charging more. Because it had the 5.4 S/C with a 6 speed in it?

ITAPPEARS FROM THE ABOVE ARTICLE FROM FORD THAT EVERYTHING IS STILL IN ORDER.
I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN THE ROLL BAR THAT WAS IN MOST SHELBEY,S FROM THE FACTORY.I SURE HOPE IT WILL BE IN THERE OR AT LEAST A OPTION.
I HAVE SEEN SOME COMMENTS FROM MAGAZINES ABOUT HIGHER HP BUT THIS IS NOT CONFIRMED BY FORD. IT WOULD BE NEAT IF THE WAITED UNTIL LAST MIN. TO RATE IT HIGHER.
TILL THE NEXT TIME

How much was the price jump from the '01 Cobras to the '03 Cobras? That was a huge jump in car performance. If Ford puts a similiar price jump from the '04 Cobra to the '07 Cobra because of performance ONLY, then I wouldn't have no problems with that. But if that price jump is performance + having Shelby's name on it then I would stick to my previous post.

My guess is that final flywheel HP will be in the 475-480 range. That might not be the published number, but what we see from dynos. Price will be $38,995. Just a guess. I don't really want a convertible but a sunroof would be sweet. The better to hear the exhaust note.

And yet everything I have seen so far. Other than wild speculation. Has said under $40k.

The vents on the hood will be functional on the production car. They weren't on the show car.

That would be great....now all we need to do is get the dealerships to go along with that price.

See it's times like this. That I am glad the dealership 2 blocks from me. Is $1k over invoice on anything. Makes it real hard not to buy an 06gt though.

$1000 over invoice is not doing the buyer any favors on 95% of the Ford line up. You can buy F150s for $100 over all day long. I've done it twice in the past 6 months.
