Hello guys,
I'm about to change the tranny oil on my car becuse of the wear-n-trear it has had over the last 13k.
has anyone done this on the 3650 trans and what's a good replacement lube?
any help would be nice!
thanks

its pretty easy to do. to drain the fluid just unscrew the drain plug. there are 2 ways of filling it though. the first way is to fill the fluid through the fill plug on the side of the tranny. the second way is to pull off your shifter and fill until the fluid comes out of the fill plug. this way is easier for some because you can just pour and you dont need a little pump or hose to get it in the fill plug. i think you need 3.2 quarts, but i might be wrong. last time i checked mobil 1 atf was around $5 a quart at Kragen.

I don't remember how much I used, though 3-4 quarts sounds about right. Filling thru the shifter sounds a lot easier than trying to mess with pumping the fluid into the hole on the side of the tranny. That fill plug is not the easiest thing to get to. I had mine on a lift when changing, so this was easier to do, but still a chore. I changed mine at 3k just to be anal about having the factory fluid in there and to get any metal that came off during the first miles. Probably won't touch it again until 30k or so.

ya if you have access to a lift and free or cheap tranny fluid like at a dealer than do it whenever you change your oil or every other oil change. thats what guys at my dealer, and friends that work at shops do. however, letting it in there for 30k miles is fine, although i would change the fluid in the tranny and the diff at 3-5k just because i get paranoid.
