changing 85 speedo to 145

What is needed to do this? Do you need a whole new speedo or can u just change the face and get it recalibrated? im a noob at this please help. Thanks

If you get the the 140 speedo, all you have to do is swap it with the 85.

that extra 5 mph is gonna be a lot of recal' work.

send your current speedo to brothers. they'll reface it with a 170 mph and recal it too for a great price.

The only 140 speedo that directly replaces the 87-88 85mph speedo is the 89. They changed the design in 90 to accomidate the airbag or something like that.

actually, isn't he talking about an 85 one? regardless, ssp mustangs 87-89 had a 140 mph factory speedo, and these speedos can be found on ebay

oh he is talking about an 85. I would say you are going to have to send it in to get recalibrated. Send it to brothers I hear they have a good price.

Brothers did mine

I bought the face kit from JEGS (Speedware Kit). Painted my needles with florescent orange paint. Othewise it was hard to see the needles during the day. Sent the whole pod to Brothers and they re-calibrated the speedo( left the odometer alone) and returned it to me. Took about a week or so. They were real helpful on the phone. Do a Yahoo search and find their web site.
