Changing diff fluid

Whats involved in doing this? Do I need to get a new gasket since Im assuming I have to take the cover off to drain it. Does it have a fill plug to fill it back up?

How much fluid and what type/brand/weight should I use?

Would the dealer have the gear oil and friction modifier?

Does it matter which gasket maker you use?

i agree with killy, i use the black RTV and also use the RP 75W-90 diff fluid

i never mentioned that you use it, i ment to say i use it personally on the cars i work on since i get it $5 a quart.............. my bad on the mix up

You lose Killy you don't need to use a gasket.All you need is black
RTV.Also Royal Purple is one of the best differential oil you can use
and it is proven to work very we'll and millions of people use it and like it.
Useing Royal Purple you don't need friction modifier it already has it in it
so, on need to waste ten dollars for nothing.

Royal purple is great, but not required by any means as the FMC will be fine

Royal purple is great, but not required by any means as the FMC will be fine

No need for the gasket you are wasteing your time and money
and all the need is black RTV.Useing Royal Purple it cuts out the need
for friction modifier so,if anyone should be shruging it should be you.

I would only use black RTV.
Also I don't belive anything Killy says.

I used RED RTV silicone gasket maker and it works fine, too.
