changing gears to 3.73's good or bad

i have a c4 auto in my mustang right now with i think 3.06 rear gears the trans is stock except for a b&m shift kit if i changed to 3.73s would it help me any? i will be putting in a t-5 trans in a few months so would that also help me on that any info would be great thanks in advance jj

did you miss the part about him putting in a t5 soon? Unless you want serious traction issues, stay under 4.10 w/ the t5. If you plan to have 400+ hp, many would agree 3.55s are your best bet.
I didn't miss anything, I made my suggestions based on the fact he was going to a T-5, and traction is relative to suspension and tires any how.
 
Ive talked to a dozen people about this before . I wanted 3.73's but had a set of 3.55's available to me and from Chris at Crazy Horses mouth he said 3.55's are better for a street driven car and that unless I wanted to have to use overdrive in the traps I better not use 3.73's. I hear too many people on this forum knock
3.55's cause they have 3.73's or 4.10's and can spin their tires at 30 mph....GREAT FOR YOU!!!! I want to use the combination that works not the one that only seems better....Some of us have a use for 3.08's 3.55's 3.73's all the way to 5.14's......its all about the combination thats right for you...
