whats up guys. I bought a Saleen 351 Wing this past December ( single stack wing ) and its been sitting here in my room for over 2 months and I got bored so I went down in the garage to take off the stock one place the Saleen one on the deck lid just to see how it will look once its painted and actually installed. What Im confused on is when you take the rear wing off (stock one) there are 4 bolts that come out of the bottom of the pedestals that go through the trunk which the nuts screw onto that hold the wing on. The thing is the new wing I bought dident come w/ any type of hardware to install it so is there away to get those bolts off the orginail wing and swap them over to the new one or is there some type of bolt that you have to buy that will screw into the bottom of the new wing. Just thought I would ask since once I got the stock one off I was kind of

When mine came from Saleen it had the Bolts... they where a hex head bolt.. i'm sure you could go to a local hardware store and get them.

Thats what Im thinking that I might have to do. It is a saleen wing but it did not come from saleen. I bought it off Ebay for ALOT cheaper and the quality is actually very nice and should not require much prep work at all before paint.

well I found away to get the wing mounted after a trip to my local true value hardware store. Only prob now is that after I put the new bolts in the new wing I discoverd that it dosent exactly line up in the holes like the old one did. One side will slide in fine but the other side of the wing is off by so little that it will almost slide in the hole but the pedestal needs to be about .00025 of an inch over more :bang: Sooo close. So now I have the prob of what do I do now? Do I just drill a bigger hold in the deck lid so that the bolt will fit in the hole? If I do that Im afraid that Im going to run into the prob of having the hole being bigger then it should and then having water leak in the trunk. But I think thats my only option. I guess I could seal the hell out of underside of the deck lid where the holes come into it w/ some Gasket sealer to keep the water out. Any other sugestions?

that should do the job. its inside the trunk, no one will see it. thats better than a wet trunk everytime it rains. you gonna re-use/buy the stock gasket between the trunk and the wing? that should help too.

I have a friend thats the body shop manager at a local ford dealership and he said he would take care of all of it so thats a big load of my cheast. I dont belive there was any gasket there when I took off the orginial wing, maybe it came off at some other time when the body shop had the wing off for what ever reason. Anyone know if you can reorder those rear wing gaskets from ford?
