i keep having problems with my 2000 mustang not starting. it starts about 9 out of 10 times. the problem started about a week ago. it has failed to start 3 times now. i took it in to autozone today and got the battery tested, charged, and retested and it looked fine. i reinstalled the battery, then tested the alternator. it was producing about double the amperage it should have been. the guy working didn't know why, so i tore the alternator off and brought it inside to test on some machine. everything tested fine when it was off the car. when it won't crank, i jump it and it fires right up.
the problem started about a week after i installed some UDP. 2 pulleys, 42%, water pump and crank. this may have something to do with it.
i also cleaned the terminals and check for loose/frayed wires and everything looked fine. any other ideas? fuse possibly?
i have jumper cables and a portable jumper in case this crap persists.
