Cheap cold air intake for 86 - 88 ? ? ?

I am looking to find a cheap cold air intake for my 88 5.0. Ebay has cheap ones for 89 - 93, but all the 86 - 88 ones are expensive! Anybody know where to get one? Thanks

Make sure your air silencer is pulled, and run the stocker. CAI's are a waste of money.

agreed, cai's are absolutely worthless. in fact, i was reading this 5.0 mustang tuning book, and the guy who wrote is said something to the extend of " ive tested nearly every cai and ram air system for these cars however NONE of them had made more power then a simple k&n replacement filter". or something like that

the chrome and blue ones are ugly as heck unless your all chromed out.

I agree with the others that they are probably worthless and you should spend it elsewhere.

My car came with a Moroso one when i bought it so I cannot attest to the power, but it is damn nice to have a cleanable filter.

Go buy a K&N for your stock CIA

Waste of money.
The stock system is already a cold air intake system,just remove the pos restrictive silencer and throw in a K&N filter.

According to the 5.0L tech and reference book,removing the silencer is worth approximately 5-7 hp.

I bought one for an 89-93 and just put a stock MAF sensor in the middle.

It's cheaper and when i upgrade to MAF later on, i don't need a new CAI.

I bought it for looks really

I agree that these cars already have a CAI system.Just remove the inner fender air intake,add a K&N like the other's said.It worked for my 'Bird.My "bird is half Mustang come to think of it.I suppose it's a Thunderstang.
