Cheap Performance?

Well me and my buddy have been wanting to build an all out drag car for awile. We are now starting to get the ball rolling on our project. We have a 83Mustang GT Roller, we are gonna completely gut. We have a 302 out of a 87 F150 we are gonna use for the short block. Since I own a 96 GT I spend most of my time looking at modular stuff. At first I wanna start the build off as cheap as possible. So I wanna know whats a good H/C/I set up to get that doesnt cost out the ass? Thanks

I was wondering if it would be better to go with a carb set-up, or stick with efi, power wise? Thanks

As a general statement speed costs money. How fast do you want to go? vs. How cheap do you want to be?

On a cheap drag car, a carb set up and a 5 speed is probably best. An EFI setup with a built automatic would be faster but much more expensive. To get an EFI to go fast, you will want bigger injectors, bigger MAF, throttle body, intakes, programmable computer, 255 lph fuel pump, etc.

A tested and true H/C/I package is Trick Flow's. Great pricing and dyno backed performance.

Now, if you are going carbed...I am not sure what would do best.
