That's exactly what i used. Spent less than $10 and took maybe 45 min, only b/c of dry time. I just taped of the back up light and sprayed away. Then covered with one layer of gloss to prevent fading. Pics are kinda blurry, but here is the result:

So when your painting the lights, is it the outside your actually painting then?

That's what I'm wondering. Is it just the black, or do you put some clear coat on top?

I got some new projector headlights and I wanted to try to tint them kinda like the stock 01 headlights. Is there any kind of lighter black spray tint out there? I don't want to make them too dark.

I wouln't spray the headlights, they are meant to be bright and mustang headlights are pretty poor in the first place. Unless you do very minimal night driving, I think you will regret it.

Tails are darker and you only need to know the difference between "on" and "off" rather than light the way in front of you.

These projectors are brighter than stock headlights. And i just want to tint them a little, like stock ones were so I don't thint the tint will effect the brightness noticeably.

I just finished tinting the tails on my 03, I went thr route of the static cling stuff..

It didn't seem like it would work at first.. but it looked okay after I was done.. It's nighttime now, so I'll see how it looks int he morning. it looks amazing at night though. 12 dollars at any autozone, and 2 hours.
