You should be able to use that 97 hard line, complete. You'll need to do some beating on the strut tower to get that booster in, and drill/enlarge a hole to allow it to pass through the firewall. On my 93, it just barely slid past the strut tower...you won't be so lucky. Also, keep in mind the 95+booster uses different nuts to secure it to the firewall, so keep them.

I used a 94-95 Mustang master cylinder. Note that rebuilt 94-95 Mustang master cylinders do not come with a reservoir. That means a trip to the junkyard and some more money spent.

Your brake pedal may be very hard and almost impossible to lock up the brakes. I had to replace the front calipers with 73 mm calipers from a 91 Lincoln Mark 8 to get the braking performance up to par.

I used the stock brake booster and have excellent stopping power.

Im asking for Ford Racing parts,

Chances of finding them in Junkyards?

Well whatever,

I decided to just get everything I needed,

So Im all squared now, I didnt buy the center cable, Ill take your advise and see if I can get away with not using it,

I got the wilwood Prop Valve from Summit, For 50 cents extra although the same part I like Wilwood better than Summit
Excited now, All my parts finally came together,
Didnt realise exactly how much stuff you have to buy!
For guys who have done it, Really was it worth it?

Was worth it? For the money I could have gotten a blower, but I digress. What does it profit a man if he can go fast in his mustang yet cannot stop safely when he calls upon the stock brakes to bring the car to a hault? With 5 lugs you join the exclusive club of Fox body mustangs who chose to do their brakes like they were meant to be done. Was it expensive? Yes. I thought it would be a certain price then you add in pads, fittings, 99 PBR Dual Pot calipers, master cylinder, pro por valve, new struts for me since I have an 86, axle seals, diff fluid, friction modifier, brake fluid, ebrake lines, plug, and a bunch of other stuff I am forgetting, you can certainly crest the 2k, maybe even 3k mark. Depending on which system you buy. Was it worth it? Damn right.

Was it worth it? For looks, yes. I never really got to drive the car around with the new brakes..i sold it like 2 weeks after i got the car done,lol. From what i did drive it(like 50 miles or so)..it felt a lot better stopping. This was 95 booster,master,rear brakes and front rotors with '00 gt pbr front calipers. I had like $700 in the complete swap..wheels included. It pays to shop around.

I went ahead and got the middle ebrake cable. It's only 16 bucks and I would hate to not have it and find out I need it when I'm under the car working.

For those who DIDNT buy a new center cable did you do any modification to the stock self adjusting e-brake?

Or did you just connect the two new cables and be done with it?

I think it's just best to get the 16 dollar cable. If you didn't need it than it wouldn't be a big lost vs. taking apart the car and finding out you do need it.

Somewhat related question:

I read on a few How-to pages that a Caliper brace or "Moan Bracket" should be installed when doing the conversion. How important is the peice? What's the purpose? They are welded on the t-coupe rearends.

Well, it is recommended to use them if you have them. They help keep the caliper from flexing on the rotors and causing a moaning sound from the pads rubbing the rotors. I don't have any bracing on mine, and my brakes moan sometimes when backing up…probably 20% of the time. The SN95 ones bolt to the calipers and also bolt to the rear end housing with large U shaped "muffler clamps". They are a bit pricey from Ford.....a friend was quoted about $45 each for them! He ended up getting the Cobra rear conversion kit that had the caliper brackets, moan brackets and Cobra rotors for $170.

I am doing this swap in a few months when I get back from OIF.

What do I need now?

I am getting the 2 Cobra E-Brake cables, but what is this center cable I need? My buddy that sold me the kit said I have a complete kit, and mentioned nothing of welding the E-Brake handle.

I went and brought the 91 front calipers for a crown vic (steel piston police package). They look pretty huge! They bolt right up right?
