cheapest place to get braided hose?

If you mean from the tank up to the eng compartment, you could use alum or steel line in the roll....Summit has it much cheaper than braided.

..'sides...the SB isnt the killer...its the cost of the fittings :O

I just spent about $300 on braided hose and a pile of fittings. There's cheap stuff out there but I would stay away from it and buy name brand (Russell, Aeroquip, or Earl's). Summit and jegs both carry their own "brand" but you can;t go wrong buying the good stuff, you can only go broke...LOL.

I'd use a hard line for the fuel as well, at least to the fender-wall, too much nasty stuff happens under the car for braided IMHO.

-6AN is 3/8
-8AN is 1/2

I plumbed my 68 from tank to carb with 6an braided hose and fittings from Summit. they worked great and are just as good as aeroquip. Save your self some time and headache and buy the hose cutter!
The cutters are nice, but I had good results with a simple cutting disc as well.

See my SB hoses and AN fittings here.
