The only brand of cats that i've heard of being good are Carsound and CatCo, are these good brands? Also, what is a cheap place to get them?

So far the cheapest i've found are this store on ebay that carries them

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33629&item=7934098409&rd=1

Would those fit? I have a BBK O/R pipe i got for 40 bux and i wanna add cats to it because everyone who gets in teh car hates the smell and its a bit too loud for me.

The _cheapest_ method by far is to do the following:

Go to your local autozone/pep boys and get a bunch of pipe merge fittings. These will have a different input and output diameter. You'll need 4 and 8 exhaust clamps.

Get a stock h-pipe from....actually....any car with 2 1/2 exhaust diameter. Bigger is better I suppose since there will be less backpressure but then make sure your pipe fittings match.

Then hack out a large enough section from your midpipe and cut the cats from your JY catpipe, slip pipe fittings and clamp. Cheap, fast and convenient. You can unclamp as you need to to gain access to the underside of the car and it suure beats wrestling with that infernal heavy as lead stock pipe. The best is to get a mustang factory 4 cat and chop that up. That way noone can complain about you not using the factory emissions equiptment.

So was the magnaflow a o/r pipe before and you added cats or did it come with the cats.

I'm interested in who has added cats to an o/r pipe and see if they have any fitment issues. I get stuck in traffic all the time and don't care for the smell either, plus I'm two months late for emissions But I don't really want to buy a new cat pipe and I really don't want to stick the stock cats back on.

the x pipe came with cats from magnaflow. if you add cats its going to cost you about $90 per cat plus welding(at least where I have gone for estimates). email me and we can work something out if you want.

Well the catco cats on ebay are 30 bux a piece, so 60 bux for both cats and some place nearby can weld them on for 100 bux. So approx 140 bux for a catted pipe with new cats doesnt seem bad.

cheapest place to get cats from is the classifieds. one can often find owners with cats from a new litter for little or no money.
