What is the quickest/cheapest way to make my car legal....

It has LTs, O/R H and Mac Pro dumps.

I would like to put it back they way it was afterward.
I'm in NY and I believe that it must have cats in stock possition

Btw, does anyone know of any work around in NY.. as in my car is 15yr w/ less that 5,000m a year... that would make it exempt??

well what i did with mine (which isnt legal but passed the sniffer) is i went to autozone or advanced auto parts which ever you have, an got two universal cats for 120.00 then i just cut two sections outta the h pipe, and slide the cats on with clamps... car didnt even give off hardly any emissions... i dont know about the dumps though.... depends on the tech you take it too!! good luck!!!

Technically, to be legal, you need to get rid of the Long tubes, too.

Since the long tubes locate the O2 sensors farther down the pipe than the stock headers, there could be some HC problems. This is because the O2 sensor is located at a less than optimum position.
