I need to buy some cheap street tires to mount on my wheels when they come on Thursday. Any suggestions? I know I cant expect the world out of them but I cant afford anything great and I have Nittos for the track.

Yeah Kumho's are pretty inexpensive and are an okay tire. They didn't wear to quickly when I had them on my pony rims when I first got my car.

The only other thing I can suggest is going to your local Discount Tire or something like that and seeing what they have in the way of used tires. You would be surprised how many guys buy brand new Corvettes or Mustangs and only have the tires on for a couple weeks before buying ones, you can get those used tires for pretty cheap.

Oh BTW just forgot you can get those New BF Goodrich G-Force Sports for pretty cheap 275/45/17s are only like $122 on Tirerack.com

My buddy just got some for his car and he loves them. Although he drives a CRX

I got the BFG G-force Sports. Excellent tires for the money. But, largest tire they have is the 245/45R17 which is stock size for 17x8 GT wheels. If you have 17x9 or larger wheels then I would go with another tire and no smaller than a 255/45R17. IMO 245s on a 9" wide wheel looks too small.

I used to run the nankang EX-500 tires in 245-50-16 size on my car and I LOVED them. They were cheap as hell and I was cutting 1.91 60's on them. I bought them local so I don't know where else you can buy them at. Here's a link to the tire.

My dad runs these on his '91GT and my cousin ran them on his KB '94GT before switching to DR's.

I have ESSENZA 210 type R tires 255/45 R-17's that came with my AFS wheels. I love them for street tires. They aren't rated Z, but they have lasted for two years + and I just rotated them front to back. They need a little heat to stick at the track, but I'm thrilled with them. Cut 2.0 - 60 fts most of the time I go to the track with stock suspension.

i like my sumitomo's... their cheap and so far not a bad tire. I usually go through tires pretty quick so i dont see the point in getting really expensive ones.

i 2nd that.

i have the sumitomo htr + 's. ultra high performance all season tire. tirerack has 275s for $99. 245 and 255's are a little cheaper. they are a W rated tire and have a good treadwear.

im happy with mine

i bought a set of exocet wynstars for my car for 69/piece. I have put a bunch of miles(not sure how much maybe 6k) beating the hell out of them and they are still good. But the only problem is they are narrow for the size. the 245/45/17 is more like a 225-235 widthcompared to bfgs or michelins. these are also the tires I pulled 1.8s on :D
