Check engine code: p1506(Idle Air Control Overspeed Error what is this, how do I fix?

Autozone pulled this code. They couldn't tell me how to fix it because they said they can't really diagnose codes above 1000 - "manufacture specific codes" is how the guy put it - ironically he previously owned a cobra until he raced an under cover camaro and got clocked going 120mph.

I think it's the PCV valve, a whopping $3.00 going to replace it...let me know if you got any other possible problems associated with that code.

That code is set when the idle speed(RPM) of the motor is consistently higher than the desired idle RPM. It is almost always IAC or vacuum leak related.

Yeah man I think you are right, because the code hasn't been thrown again(yet), but it still wants to idle around 2,000 rpms before it drops back down. It helps launch the car better(obviously...) but I am just wasting gas in the mean time...I am reading you have to check it with a voltmeter - do you reset it if its off? or do you replace?
